PRODUCT DESCRIPTION |
| BMPRIME™ is a transparent white, acrylic elastomeric, waterproof adhesive Primer Sealer designed as the Primer Sealer for THERMCOTE/BM™ for Bus & Recreational Vehicles roofs. A waterborne, latex-based, high resin content formula that contains no fillers so that it waterproofs and provides excellent adhesion to most types of surface. A high resin content plus the addition of special adhesive chemicals enables BMPRIME™ to waterproof, bond and seal the surface together preparing it for the application of THERMCOTE/BM™. Excellent penetrating characteristics enable BMPRIME™ to permeate into the substrate providing a permanent bond to the finish coat. On non-porous substrates, the high resin content provides excellent adhesion to the surface then forming a tight bond to the finish coat. The bond that is formed between BMPRIME™ and the THERMCOTE/BM™ finish coat eliminates any possibility of moisture under the finish coat thus extending the coating’s and roof’s life considerably. |
PRODUCT USES |

BMPRIME™ is recommended for all Bus & Recreational Vehicle roofs. Roof Surface must be well drained and cannot hold any ponding water. Excellent adhesion on wood, shakes, plywood, primed metal, galvanized, aluminum, tin, copper, asbestos, asphalt, urethane, polyester, styrofoam, fiberglass, rolled roofing, modified bitumen membranes, mineral surfaced roofing, concrete, masonry, and various other substrates.

SURFACE PREPARATION |
|
A primer sealer coat of BMPRIME™ is required for the 5 Year Limited Warranty on the THERMACOTE/BM™, Bus & Recreational Vehicle Coating System. Prepare surface by thoroughly pressure washing with a water and chlorine solution using at least 1500 P.S.I. to remove any previous coatings, dirt, grease, and other foreign materials, especially mold, mildew and algae. BMPRIME™ will resist mildew growth but will not kill mildew already on the surface. Apply only to a sound, well-prepared surface. Prepare all rust and corrosion with OXIPRIME™, Red Iron Oxide Primer Sealer before the application of BMPRIME™. Patch any holes, cracks, valleys, etc., with THERMAPATCH™, Waterproof Caulk and Sealant. Tape and seal all seams with POLYMESH™, Polyester Fabric Tape. |
APPLICATION PROCEDURE |
| Stir well before using. Do not thin. Use product as is. Do not apply when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit or when humidity is very high. Do not apply when primer will be subjected to rain or heavy dew before it has had enough time to dry (approximately 4 to 6 hours). Drying time will vary depending on temperature, humidity & location. Apply using brush, roller or spray. Use at least a 1 gallon per minute piston type airless sprayer with a minimum tip size of .025. Spread uniformly. Wait at least 12 hours before applying THERMACOTE/BM™. Be sure to coat over BMPRIME™ with THERMACOTE/BM™ within 72 hours or surface may become contaminated. |
CLEAN UP |
| Clean
all tools immediately after use while still wet with warm soapy water. |
